Crown Jewel champs won't get to keep gaudy belt, will get massive ring - Cageside Seats

At Bad Blood last month, Triple H announced that this year’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia would pit WWE’s World champions from Raw and SmackDown against one another for a men’s and women’s Crown Jewel championship. He also showed off the diamond-encrusted Crown Jewel title belt that would “signify the best of the best”.

That doesn’t mean they’ll get to take it home with them, though.

Today (Nov. 1) at the Crown Jewel Kickoff in Riyadh’s WWE Experience, Haitch broke the news that the Crown Jewel belts will stay on display year-round at the attraction/museum in Saudi Arabia. The winners of tomorrow’s matches between WWE World champion Cody Rhodes & WWE World Heavyweight champion Gunther and WWE Women’s champion Nia Jax & WWE Women’s World champion Liv Morgan will get “a massive ring, like a Super Bowl ring, that shows to the world that they are the one true champion in WWE.”

He added that the Crown Jewel title matches would happen every year moving forward, “we’ll see how many rings people can collect over the years”.

Not terribly surprising the Saudis don’t want people lugging their 50 carats worth of diamonds around various airports and car rental locations all over the world. We haven’t gotten a look at the rings yet, but it sounds like they’ll be pretty gaudy too.

And as anyone who’s followed MJF’s AEW career knows, the Crown Jewel rings will give heel winners another sneaky way to win matches, too.

Let us know what you think of this announcement in the comments below, Cagesiders.
